The Alliance Duel is the event the whole week is built around: six days of competition against a matched rival alliance, with a different point category every day and a PvP finale on Saturday. It is also the event that decides how much of your stash you should ever spend — shards, tickets, badges and speedups all have a duel day where they are worth double or more.

This guide covers entry requirements, the phase mechanics with exact point values, the daily saving strategy, Falcon Quest stacking, and how the duel feeds into Kingdom War.

What the Alliance Duel Is

The Alliance Duel is a 6-day alliance competition divided into phases 1 through 6, running Monday to Saturday. Each day has its own point category — a specific set of actions that earns duel points — and the alliance that scores more in the daily category wins that phase. Saturday, Phase 6, is the PvP finale where the two alliances finally fight each other directly.

There is also a compressed format: Survival Battle, a 4-hour version of the duel for alliances that want the same competition without the full week. The mechanics and scoring logic are identical — only the clock changes.

The duel is not won on the day. It is won by whoever saved the right resources for the right phase.

Entry Requirements and Matchmaking

  • Your alliance must be a top-32 ranked alliance with 20 or more members to enter.
  • On a brand-new server, the first duel runs around day 17 — plan your opening two weeks around it.
  • After Phase 6 ends there is a 1-day break before the next cycle begins.
  • Matchmaking is believed to be based on alliance activity and win rate — highly active alliances get paired against similarly active ones, not purely by raw power.

The Week at a Glance

DayPhaseFocus
MondayPhase 1Daily point category — check the event screen for the exact scoring actions
TuesdayPhase 2Daily point category — same, the categories rotate per day
WednesdayPhase 3Research and scroll day
ThursdayPhase 4Heroes and recruitment
FridayPhase 5Troop training
SaturdayPhase 6PvP finale against the rival alliance

Phases 1 and 2 change their categories from cycle to cycle, so read the in-game event screen each week. Phases 3, 4 and 5 are the big planning days — the ones where hoarding pays — and they are covered in detail below.

Phase 3: Research and Scroll Day

Phase 3 scores your research activity, but it has a trap built in: scroll points are only awarded for scrolls consumed on that day. Burning scrolls on Monday earns nothing on Wednesday.

The workaround is to research things that do not cost scrolls:

  • Hero research — full point value, zero scroll cost.
  • Soldier research — same deal, and it compounds into Phase 5 troop value.

Two chest rules complete the day:

  • Raven gear chests are promoted during Phase 3 — the event awards points for opening them. This is the day to crack your stash.
  • Curio chests give no points in the duel — but they have no time pressure either. Claim them whenever you like; nothing is lost by saving them.

Phase 4: Heroes and Recruitment

Phase 4 is the highest-value day for hero assets. The exact point values:

ActionPoints
1 UR shard+20,000
SSR shard+7,000
SR shard+2,000
Recruitment+3,450
Skill badge+20

One UR shard alone is worth nearly six SSRs. That math drives the whole week: save your recruitment tickets, hero shards and skill badges for Phase 4. Spending shards the day you get them is throwing away the single biggest point multiplier the duel offers.

Phase 5: Troop Training

Phase 5 converts your barracks output into points:

SourcePoints
Trained soldier, Tier 1+46
Trained soldier, Tier 10+253
Training Boost+115 per minute

Tier values scale between the two endpoints — higher tiers pay several times what T1s do, so train the highest tier your barracks support. And the event stacks its own bonuses on top for the day:

  • All points +100% — everything earned on Phase 5 day is doubled.
  • Speedups +30% — speedup efficiency is boosted.
  • Training +30% — training itself runs faster.

The conclusion is obvious: save your training speedups for Phase 5. A speedup burned on a random Tuesday is worth 30% less and earns half the points.

Phase 6: Saturday PvP Showdown & Raid Buffs

Saturday is the climax of the duel week: two matched alliances clash head-to-head in a cross-server raid showdown.

  • PvP Points: Points are awarded for defeating enemy soldiers and successfully breaching enemy cities.
  • New Raid Buffs (August 20, 2026 update): During the Saturday Raid Phase, powerful Raid Buffs are active:
    • Increased Infirmary Capacity to prevent fatal troop overflow;
    • Increased Healing Speed for wounded soldiers;
    • Reduced Healing Cost (resource discount).
  • Alliance League Phase: For servers older than 7 weeks, the top 16 alliances in each Kingdom compete in the competitive League Phase featuring dedicated banners and bracket rewards.

Sunday: The Pre-Planning Day

The break day after Phase 6 is not a rest day — it is the planning day for the next cycle. Before the new duel starts:

  1. Check your stash: shards, tickets, badges, speedups, Raven gear chests, curio chests.
  2. Assign each stockpile to the phase that pays for it — Phase 3, 4 or 5.
  3. Set the alliance goal: the target is the maximum milestone chest and the top promotions the roster can reach.
  4. Check your Alliance Duel Technology — at 100% it changes what goals are realistic, so leadership should know exactly where the alliance stands before committing to a target.

Falcon Quest Stacking

Falcon Quests interact with the duel through one rule: do the quests whenever you like, but claim them on double-point days — Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A claimed quest on the wrong day earns half of what it could.

Then the advanced trick, the Stacking Max - 1 technique:

  • When your quest board is completely full, the board timer freezes — no new quests arrive while it is full.
  • Keep the board at max minus one instead: complete one quest, and the timer keeps running, refreshing the board.
  • The result is a continuous quest pipeline instead of a frozen one, and far more quests banked for the double-point days.

New Server Notes

Two calendar facts every new server player should know:

  • There is no raid during the first 2 weeks of a new server. Raid content starts in week 3 — do not burn resources expecting it earlier.
  • The first Alliance Duel lands around day 17. The opening-two-weeks economy in the beginner guides is tuned exactly to this: build up, then have something worth scoring when the first duel opens.

Rewards and the KvK Connection

Duel payouts come in two layers:

  • Milestone chests — the alliance goal is always the maximum chest. Everything else is secondary.
  • Promotions and contribution ranking — individual rewards scale with your personal contribution, which is why solo hoarding that never gets spent helps nobody.

And the duel is not an isolated event: it feeds directly into Kingdom War. KvK and the duel share scoring sources — Covert Ops and Caravans score for both. Run them every day and the same effort pays twice. The full caravan route is covered in the Guild Wagon and Caravans guide.

Common Mistakes

  1. Spending shards and tickets outside Phase 4 — the single biggest point loss in the event.
  2. Burning training speedups outside Phase 5 and losing the +100% day bonus.
  3. Consuming scrolls for research on non-scroll days instead of running scroll-free hero and soldier research.
  4. Claiming Falcon Quests on single-point days.
  5. Letting the quest board freeze at full instead of keeping it one slot short.
  6. Ignoring the 1-day break after Phase 6 and showing up to the new cycle unprepared.
